The Impact of Mobile Device Issues on Employee Health and Well-Being

by | Aug 6, 2018 | Whitepapers

Is Device Reliability Affecting the Health of Mobile Workers?

From field engineers to retail staff, many workers are now equipped with powerful mobile devices to help them complete their tasks efficiently and effectively. But what happens when their device has an issue, or can no longer be relied upon?

B2M’s Mobile Impact Survey sought to find out exactly how the reliability of a mobile device could affect the health and well-being of mobile workers in the UK and US. The findings, available in this report, show that many mobile workers are suffering stress and anxiety of because of mobile device problems and, in some cases, need to take time off to recuperate. It also shows that many businesses are unaware of the impact that device issues are having on productivity and – more importantly – worker health, suggesting that better device monitoring is needed to ensure availability.

The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of mobility does not take into account the hidden costs such lost productivity, increased admin time and IT support staff hours.  Should we really be trying to identify the True Cost of Ownership™ of Enterprise Mobility instead?
