Mobility Intelligence, Elemez and Mobile DEX FAQs
Straight answers about what Elemez does, how it works with MDM/EMM, what it measures, which platforms it supports, and how Mobility Intelligence relates to Mobile DEX.
What is Mobility Intelligence?
Mobility Intelligence reveals how the devices, applications, batteries, and networks frontline work depends on are actually performing. It identifies the mobile problems affecting frontline work, so IT, Operations, and Finance can act before those problems become downtime.
How is Mobility Intelligence different from MDM, EMM, or UEM?
MDM, EMM, and UEM are primarily used to enroll devices, apply configuration and policy, distribute applications, maintain security, and manage compliance. Mobility Intelligence focuses on how devices, applications, batteries, and networks perform during real work. It complements the management layer rather than replacing it. To learn more, click here.
Does Elemez replace my MDM?
No. Elemez works alongside MDM/EMM. Your management platform remains responsible for control, policy, security, and compliance. Elemez adds continuous operational evidence about reliability, usage, and cost. To learn more, click here.
Why use an independent intelligence layer if my MDM has analytics?
MDM analytics can be valuable, but they are usually tied to that management environment and its available data. An independent layer helps organizations compare performance across supported MDMs, device manufacturers, and operating groups, and preserves a consistent evidence model when the underlying stack changes. The business case is strongest in mixed or changing estates and where deeper frontline telemetry is required. To learn more, click here.
Can Elemez work across more than one MDM?
Elemez is designed to provide a consistent intelligence layer across supported mobile environments without any restriction on your MDM(s) of choice. Exact deployment and compatibility depend on the operating system, device, and management configuration. B2M will validate the proposed estate during evaluation.
Which device manufacturers and operating systems does Elemez support?
Elemez supports Windows™ devices, giving you visibility over Windows 10 and 11 devices such as laptops and tablets.
Elemez also fully supports manufacturers running Android 8.1 to Android 16. The list of manufacturers is long, but does include industry leaders for frontline enterprise mobility: Zebra, Honeywell, Datalogic, GETAC, Panasonic and more.
Elemez does NOT support iOS, MacOS or ChromeOS at the present time.

What does Elemez measure?
Elemez collects approved signals relating to supported devices, applications, batteries, network connections, and usage. Examples include reliability events, application instability, battery behavior, Wi-Fi and cellular conditions, reboots, and recent device activity. The exact data available depends on platform, permission, and product configuration.
How does Device Finder locate lost or idle devices?
Elemez’s Device Finder uses available Elemez telemetry, including last-known location and recent activity, to help teams investigate lost, misplaced, or idle Android devices. It should not be described as guaranteed real-time tracking. Results depend on device power, connectivity, permissions, location availability, and the time of the last successful report.
How is Elemez deployed?
Elemez is deployed to supported endpoints and sends approved telemetry to the Elemez service for analysis and reporting. The detailed method depends on each customer’s device, operating system, and management environment. B2M works with our customers to confirm deployment, permissions, and rollout requirements.
What data does Elemez collect, and how is it protected?
The data collected depends on the enabled capabilities and supported platform. B2M provides customers with current technical and privacy documentation covering the telemetry collected, permissions, processing, and retention relevant to the proposed deployment.
Elemez is designed with both enterprise-required security and privacy in mind.
We comply with GDPR standards and have all customers sign a Data Privacy Agreement outlining all roles involved in capturing and processing data.
We also implement secure network and server protocols.\
We’ve been thoroughly vetted and tested by large corporate INFOSEC teams before deployment, and are confident we can meet your IT security needs as well.
When ready, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for a full security discussion related to Elemez and your needs.
What is Mobile DEX?
Mobile Digital Employee Experience, or Mobile DEX, is the continuous measurement and improvement of how reliably mobile technology supports frontline work. It considers the experience created by devices, applications, batteries, and network connections.
How does Mobility Intelligence enable Mobile DEX?
Mobile Digital Employee Experience (Mobile DEX) describes the reliability and experience outcome. Mobility Intelligence supplies the continuous field evidence used to measure and improve it. Elemez helps teams understand the device, application, battery, and network conditions behind the frontline experience.
Is Mobile DEX the same as Samsung DeX or retail Data Exchange?
No. Samsung DeX is a desktop-style interface available on certain Samsung devices. Retail and vending contexts may use DEX to mean Data Exchange. B2M uses Mobile DEX to mean Mobile Digital Employee Experience.
Can Elemez data be used in Power BI, Excel, ITSM or another platform?
Elemez data and intelligence can be made available through supported reporting, export, or API methods for use in business intelligence, service-management, and partner platforms. The available method and data set depend on the commercial package and integration. B2M should confirm the exact requirement during evaluation.
