Inability to deliver: mobility is often failing the postal, parcel workforce
Gary Lee, Chief Revenue Officer, B2M
As the entire postal and parcel workflow has adopted mobile devices and applications to do everything from scanning inbound packages to tracking last-mile delivery, the workers in this industry have become extremely dependent on mobility working 7x24x365 to enable them to properly do their jobs. Gary's presentation, however, will highlight the latest research to show that mobility is often failing these workers, and that the resulting economic costs to the businesses and industry are high. As we look forward in the industry, the dependence on mobility will only get stronger, to the point that when mobile fails, the entire delivery workflow may halt. We need better ways to address these issues. Fortunately, there is a new way to leverage the cloud, big data and real-time monitoring of all mobile devices, apps and workers to ensure mobility works throughout the entire package and post workflow. In the presentation, we'll look at the technology available, use cases and economic savings models associated with these new workflows and ways to ensure mobile workers are able to deliver on this mission-critical service. It's time for all companies to shift towards being more proactive in their approach to supporting their mobile workforce and avoid a situation where all packages are unable to be delivered due to an avoidable failure in mobile devices or applications.
